Michael Boutros

Michael Boutros is a professor at Heidelberg University and Head of Division at the German Cancer Research Center. He is the coordinator of the Functional and Structural Genomics Research Program and an elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). He has previously been member of the Junge Akademie of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and a Fellow of the Marsilius Kolleg at Heidelberg University. His research interest lies in functional genome analysis and the modifications of genomes by CRISPR/Cas9 to systematically understand and re-engineer gene function.
